And Just Why Does the United States Need Climate Change Policy?

Released last year, The Global Carbon Project created a report based off of the Carbon Dioxide Information Data Center dataset at ORNL.

Four graphs are displayed with the last one annotated as this:


So, without any official policy or Kyoto Treaty, US emissions are falling like a rock.  Data shows on a territorial scale, much the same:


No elephants in the room there.  That China verbal commitment of leveling out emissions by 2030 certainly looks promising.  Essentially, at +1500 GtC/yr/decade, China will level out about 5500GtC/yr, maybe. 

China emissions would more than double the current US + EU28 emissions.
